These subs are BIG in every way. Rockford Fosgate's engineers started with cast aluminum baskets and loaded in powerful linear motors. Add to that, dual spiders, aluminum cones, and high excursion rubber surrounds and you get a sub that is both physically impressive and sonically overwhelming. The T1 12" subwoofers are for those that like it low and like it loud. You'll definitely make a statement when you add this subwoofer to your ride. For the most SPL output, a slot-ported enclosure is recommended.

Aluminum Cone/Dust Cap
The application of a Hard anodized cone body and dust cap for the subwoofer offers an ideal combination of strength, weight and thermal capacity. This application allows for superior heat transfer, reduced distortion and higher power handling.

Aluminum Voice Coil Former
Two things generally happen when voice coils heat-up.


They can generate heat close to the melt-down temp of their adhesive bonds which leads to eventual failure.

Voice coil dc resistance increases and reduces SPL output.

Solution... Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use aluminum formers or voice coils for their excellent heat dissipation and SPL capabilities unlike many other plastic substitutes.

Embedded DVC Tinsel Leads
Embedded DVC Tinsel Leads Heavy duty Dual Voice Coil (DVC), multi conductor wires are embedded and stitched through two layers of treated polyester/cotton fabric. This technique ensures:

Rockford Acoustic Design (RAD) uses a computer based Klippel Analyzer to design, measure and confirm a woofer's high power stability prior to its release for production. The Klippel Analyzer utilizes sophisticated DSP based hardware with custom software to measure a woofer's high power performance capability and stability.

Proprietary Input Terminals

Magnetic Linearity
Magnetic linearity is the amount of symmetry a woofer's magnetic force (BL) exhibits through it's voice coil's displacement or position. Poor magnetic linearity results in higher levels of distortion and less control of a woofer's excursion.
